The new Automatic Toolpathing (ATP) add-on, free to all Mastercam users, automates repetitive programming tasks by allowing a user to link cutting strategies to specific levels or layers containing geometry.
The program allows a user to choose machining strategies that will automatically be applied to any geometry on a specific layer or level. When selected, the program will automatically scan each layer or level and program them with the toolpath types the user chooses. It supports native MC9 files and AutoCAD DXF and DWG files.
According to the company, ATP is useful in large projects with many different pieces of geometry. Once a strategy is created, the user chooses the files to be processed. The program will then automatically batch process each individual file.
